An ectopic pregnancy is a definite medical emergency. This paper reiewed, therefore, cause, frequency and rate of misdiagnosis, and analyzed decisions of ectoopic pregnancies and known that ; most decisions involve failure to recognize
pregnancies,
in
some cases of a false positive. If he has not, however, used tests, he may be liable for negligent misdiagnosis.
If a physician suspects that one is possible, he is not negligent if he proceeds to surgery without for pregnancy tests to be performed even if he is proved incorrect.
